She grew up exploring museums and the outdoors with her father, and discovered her passion for understanding different peoples and cultures. Written by the scientists themselves and co-authors from Vanderbilt University, the books are designed to help young readers understand that scientists are regular people like themselves who are excited about learning and discovering new things and who decided to work hard in school in order to create for themselves the opportunity to become scientists. Tiffiny Tung是范德比大學人類學系教授兼系主任，她透過考察遺址中的木乃伊和骷髏，講述關於遠古時代人們的生活情形與科學故事。她的研究得到了美國國家科學基金會和溫納格倫基金會的支持，並曾在范德比大學獲得多項教學獎。她的研究主要集中在「帝國主義的生物考古學」，包括研究古病理學和與暴力有關的創傷，以闡明帝國主義對社區健康和生活方式，以及個人生活史的影響。
