Being and Knowing ― Reflections of a Thomist

In this text, Wilhelmsen explores the Thomistic doctrines of being and knowing and their reliance on two basic assertions of St. Thomas Aquinas’s philosophy--that metaphysics is the science of existence and that existence is understood through the confirmation of the existence of observable objects. Throughout the text the author investigates a wide variety of metaphysical philosophical paradoxes and their relationship to modern philosophical thought. This text also includes a new introduction by Christendom College faculty member William Marshner. Frederick D. Wilhelmsen was a Catholic philosopher, writer, and university professor.
