The Only Bible Study Book You'll Ever Need: How to Read, Interpret, and Apply God's Word

WHY THE NAME "THE ONLY BIBLE STUDY BOOK YOU'LL EVER NEED?"There are tons of Bible study books in print. For the average person, it can be daunting and outright intimidating to know what book to get. It can be challenging to be confident that you've learned enough on how to study the Bible to last you a lifetime. Relying on God's help and my love for learning and research, I knew that I could create a book that would be "the only bible study book that you'll ever need" if you are in the 99% of people who are not seminary professors of Hermeneutics. My goal was to write a Bible study textbook for my undergraduate and graduate Bible study courses presented in a way that a layperson could read and understand. I wanted to write something that was both academic and yet attainable to the average person. This book cites over 160 different resources and has almost 400 citations and explanatory footnotes. However, we use it for our family Bible study times every Saturday, and my nine and ten-year-old sons understand the concepts very well. One of my mentors who read every chapter and provided feedback described the job done as "OUTSTANDING."The name implies this is the only Bible Study text that one will ever need. As in any good textbook, I will provide many other resources that would help the student, such as dictionaries, commentaries, and so forth. The promise the book's title makes is that the student who masters the inductive Bible study approach explained in this book will not need to read another textbook.HOW CAN YOU USE THIS BOOK? My wife, my two older sons, and I have Bible study on Saturdays. We use this textbook for it, and our nine- and ten-year old's love it. It serves as a tool for us to study God's word as a family and to introduce our children to the word of God in a way that they can study it for the rest of their lives. A friend, who doesn't read the Bible often, is excited that she can use it for herself and teach her son how to study God's word. I already mentioned that this is the textbook for undergraduate and graduate Bible study courses at Servants University. Our orphan care ministry also uses it to teach older children how to study God's word. You can use it for individual Bible study, to study the Bible as a couple, family, small group in a church, independent Bible study group, undergraduate or graduate course in a Bible college or seminary, and so forth. As designed, this book is the only Bible study book that 99% of people will ever need.
